We made it to Wilmington, NC and had lunch with our friends Sue & Jay Boor. We’ve traveled with them to Greece, Amalfi Coast, Rome and Provence. What a fantastic visit ❤️❤️❤️

Pawley’s Island Raw Bar (SC)
My second low country boil (and last, on this trip). This one not quite as good as the one in Savannah. One reason is I’m convinced the cook in the back gave me the oysters he found impossible to open. 😉 Good flavor though, and this one had crab/oysters/mussels that the first one didn’t have. The pot was a lot more authentic-looking than the first one though.
Birds at Brookgreen Gardens (SC)
Another Bob’s Business Idea
The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk (SC)
Cool ferris wheel, nice views, and the sort of place you’d expect to find a Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum. And you wouldn’t be disappointed. The place looks like it would be a madhouse “in season.”
The Raven at Myrtle Beach (SC)
There are 60 miles of continuous beautiful beach along this coast, known as the “Grand Strand.” Myrtle Beach in the middle. Huntington, where we were a few days ago, is near the southern end. Tight fit squeezing all 45 feet of Raven in. Horse rides on the beach are cool.
Made it to Space 139! (SC)
Super thrilled to have finally made it to Space 139, possibly one of the most famous in all of the RVer’s world. There we are! Right there at 139. With our wonderful friends Alice and Phil.
Atalaya Castle (SC)
We loved visiting this place. Built in the depression by a railroad/shipbuilding magnate as a “getaway” retreat from NYC, especially for his wife, a sculptor who suffered from TB. He (Mr. Huntington) was a nut about Spain and the Moorish architecture, and built an all-brick structure loosely following that style. It’s all part of the Huntington Beach State Park complex now. $5 for admission and an audio tour.
Not much furniture or anything of the interior left; but fun walking around, and the audio tour is excellent.
Huntington Beach SP (SC)
Really cool campground just 100 yards from the beach; and a great beach too.
Fort Sumter
Where the civil war began…
Takes a half-hour ferry ride, and you have an hour on the island. It’s not as big as I expected. A park ranger gave a moving presentation about the US flag and then asked audience members to help bring it down for the night and fold it.
