Sort of a cool place–a state park on the grounds of an old Confederate-era ironworks furnace. Lots of neat trails.
The bad side: Alabama allows full-time residents in their state parks, on the condition that they move every 14 days. People stay there forever, just moving back and forth between neighboring sites. So maybe half the RVs there look like they’re pretty permanent–furniture out front, etc. We saw one guy with a 50″ TV sitting on a banquet-type table and lazy-boy chairs out front. Play tents, bicycles, pet shelters, hammocks, dogs, etc. all over the place. Another issue—it’s a no-no to walk through someone’s campsite in nearly every CG in the country (except this one). Not here–kids and adults stream through your site.
