We started exploring North America in 2019 in our 2006 Monaco Diplomat. It was a 40-foot long diesel “pusher” (engine in the back). It can carry 100 gallons of fresh water, and is capable of being self-contained for several days of “boondocking” (going without hookups to water/sewer/electricity). We tow a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara (called a “toad” in RV lingo).
When we bought the Jeep, we couldn’t decide between a two-door and a four-door. We settled on a four-door, but started calling the Jeep “Hodor.” “Bran The Broken” was a natural name for the RV. (All RVs are perpetually needing repair of something)
We’ve since upgraded the Monaco to a 2017 Entegra Anthem 44b. It’s 45 feet long, with a “tag” axle (2 axles in the back). It makes the rig more stable as it’s going down the road. The Entegra is named the “Raven” (like, “Bran,” also a Game of Thrones reference).
The Entegra has a number of features that make it comfy for full-time RV living: heated floors, dishwasher, washer/dryer, satellite tv, full-time Internet, weather radar, etc.
