Nifty Harvest Hosts (read: free) stop. We’re parked right in the middle of the vines. Good wine too.

Battleship North Carolina (NC)
Cool self-guided tour of WW2 battleship.
The Museum of the Bizarre, Wilmington (NC)
Poorly executed (dark, filled with junk, no organization) museum in Wilmington that does have a few interesting things. A kitchen knife from the Jeff Dahmer collection, Harry Houdini’s Ouija board, letters from Charles Manson, various skeletons and specimens. There’s just so much junk that it’s hard to find the good stuff (and “good” is relative). And poorly lit for the most part. Just $3 admission though.
Welcome to Cape Fear! (NC)
Saw the Scorsese version of the movie last night, fitting since we’re here in the area. We’ve decided to skip renting a houseboat. 😉
Reunited!!!
We made it to Wilmington, NC and had lunch with our friends Sue & Jay Boor. We’ve traveled with them to Greece, Amalfi Coast, Rome and Provence. What a fantastic visit ❤️❤️❤️
Pawley’s Island Raw Bar (SC)
My second low country boil (and last, on this trip). This one not quite as good as the one in Savannah. One reason is I’m convinced the cook in the back gave me the oysters he found impossible to open. 😉 Good flavor though, and this one had crab/oysters/mussels that the first one didn’t have. The pot was a lot more authentic-looking than the first one though.
Birds at Brookgreen Gardens (SC)
Another Bob’s Business Idea
The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk (SC)
Cool ferris wheel, nice views, and the sort of place you’d expect to find a Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum. And you wouldn’t be disappointed. The place looks like it would be a madhouse “in season.”
The Raven at Myrtle Beach (SC)
There are 60 miles of continuous beautiful beach along this coast, known as the “Grand Strand.” Myrtle Beach in the middle. Huntington, where we were a few days ago, is near the southern end. Tight fit squeezing all 45 feet of Raven in. Horse rides on the beach are cool.
