Another fantastic Harvest Host* experience. Dan and Michelle are home builders but for us, it’s more of a farm. Lots of poultry on premises and eggs available. I noticed a windsock on the barn and asked the owner “you got anything that flies?” and he showed me the plane he’s building in the garage. We talked flying…
*Harvest Host: a program where wineries, orchards, farms, golf courses and other places provide a free place to camp (with the expectation you might purchase something from them…)
We hooked up with Cheryl and Bob here in Wilton. We sat and laughed harder than we have in a long while. Saw some mighty cool family photos too 🥰
Great meal at Maynard’s on the lake in Excelsior, MN. Why fried cheese curds are not available throughout the US remains a mystery. (And don’t tell me about Culver’s godawful concept of a fried cheese curd…)
Beautiful winery in Round Lake, MN. Harvest Hosts stop. Great gardens and koi pond too.
The Little Swan Lake Winery. With live music by Kayla Brown from CU.
Sort of a tourist trap but Mt Moriah cemetery was authentic. Wild Bill, Calamity Jane, Seth Bullock, Preacher Smith, etc. buried there.
This was from Custer, SD. An old abandoned Flintstones-themed kiddie park. Had a train, train station, tracks around the park, plus a “theater” with Flintstones figures. The park was adjacent to our RV campground.
The Crazy Horse Memorial. They’ve been working on it for 70 years. Slow progress.
